Kinesis keyboards work without drivers. Configuration and adjustments are done through their own software tool. Which tool you need depends on your model. In this article, you'll learn how it works.
Two different systems
Kinesis uses two configuration tools, depending on the keyboard type:
SmartSet App
For traditional Kinesis keyboards:
- Advantage2
- Freestyle Pro
- Freestyle Edge RGB
The SmartSet App is stored directly on the keyboard (on the so-called v-Drive) and you don't need to install it on your computer. Connect it, the keyboard appears as a removable drive, and you open the App from there. Find your product under Kinesis Support and download the latest version if needed.

Kinesis Clique
For modern ZMK-based Kinesis keyboards:
- Advantage 360 Pro
- FORM
- mWave
- Mechanical Keypad LP
Kinesis Clique is a web-based programming interface that you use in Chrome or Edge.
Open Kinesis Clique
For some keyboards, a one-time firmware update is required to use Clique. The Clique Help page explains this step by step.
