What is Klarna and how does paying later work?

What is Klarna and how does paying later work?

With Klarna, you can receive your order and pay later. Handy if you want to view or even try the product before you check out. In this article, you'll learn how it works, when you pay, and what to do if Klarna doesn't appear as an option.

How it works

During checkout, you choose Klarna pay later. We send your product, and Klarna sends you an invoice by email. From the moment your product leaves our warehouse, you have 30 days to pay the invoice.

Payment goes to Klarna, not to Ergowerken.

Where do you pay?

You'll receive an email from Klarna with a digital payment slip. You can pay it via:

  • iDEAL
  • Bank transfer to Klarna's account number

The account number is in Klarna's email. So don't transfer the amount to Ergowerken: that won't settle your payment with Klarna.

The Klarna app

Klarna offers a handy app where you can see an overview of all your orders.

Klarna doesn't appear as an option

If Klarna isn't among the payment methods, it's usually because you've selected pickup as your shipping method. Klarna doesn't work with pickup. In that case, choose delivery to your address, or another payment method.

Another reason could be that your order amount exceeds the Klarna limit for your country. Each country has a maximum:

Country Maximum
Netherlands €14,000
Belgium €14,000
Germany €14,000
Austria €10,000
Spain €14,000
Finland €14,000
France €4,000
Ireland €4,000
Italy €4,000
Portugal €4,000
Denmark DKK 100,000
Sweden SEK 150,000
United Kingdom £10,000

Difference from business orders on account

Klarna is for private customers and you pay Klarna. Ordering on account is only for businesses and you pay Ergowerken. Both have a 30-day payment term, but they're different routes.

See the article about business orders on account if you're ordering for your company.
