You can connect your Contour Unimouse wireless (Bluetooth version) to your computer in three ways: via Bluetooth, via the included USB dongle, or wired with the USB cable. In this article, you'll learn how to set up each connection, plus what to do if pairing doesn't work right away.
Three options, each with its own benefits:
When you connect the USB cable, the wireless connection is temporarily disabled. Wired always takes priority.
Your computer will connect automatically. Cursor not responding right away? Wait a few seconds; the first pairing sometimes takes a little longer.
Your computer will recognize the Unimouse automatically. No additional installation needed.
Have you set up both wireless options (Bluetooth and dongle) and want to explicitly use one of them? You can do this with a button combination:
Use Bluetooth only: Hold down the Cursor Speed button (E) and press the left mouse button (A) three times. Then release button E.
Use dongle only: Hold down the Cursor Speed button (E) and press the right mouse button (D) three times. Then release button E.
Re-pair Bluetooth: Hold down the Cursor Speed button (E) and press the left mouse button (A) twice. Then release button E. Next, follow the steps under "Connecting via Bluetooth".
Restore dongle pairing: Unplug the dongle, plug it back in, and keep the Unimouse nearby. Then press and hold button E. Press the right mouse button (D) twice. Release button E.
How do I know my Unimouse is paired? Your cursor responds to mouse movement once the connection is active. Not working within 10 seconds? Try checking the battery first, or perform a reset.
Can I use Bluetooth and dongle at the same time? Not simultaneously. The Unimouse uses one connection at a time. However, you can set up both and switch between them using a button combination.
Does the Unimouse work on a Mac? Yes. The Unimouse is plug-and-play on Windows, Mac, and most Linux distributions. For extra customization, Contour recommends installing the driver.
My Unimouse doesn't appear in my computer's Bluetooth list. What now? Check that the mouse is on (switch on the underside) and has enough battery. Still not working? Perform a reset and try again.
These instructions apply to the Contour Unimouse wireless (Bluetooth version). The steps differ for the wired Unimouse or older wireless version without Bluetooth.
