Your Handshoemouse Shift wireless can be connected to your computer via Bluetooth, or used wired with the USB cable. Many customers get stuck on the pairing steps, especially because the mouse must be set to the correct hand orientation before pairing. In this article you'll find step-by-step instructions on how to set up the connection properly.
The Handshoemouse Shift is a shift-mouse: it works both right-handed and left-handed. For pairing, the orientation you choose matters, because the mouse registers differently with your computer. If you choose a right-handed setting, the Bluetooth list will also recognise the mouse that way.
Before you pair, check:
Once the Bluetooth light stops flashing, the connection is ready.
Prefer to work wired, or is the battery empty? Plug the USB charging cable into the mouse and into a free USB port on your computer. The mouse is ready to use immediately and charges at the same time.

How do I know if my mouse is on? A working mouse has an LED light that is on or flashing. A blue flashing light means pairing mode. A red flashing light means the battery is almost empty.
What name do I see in my Bluetooth list? The mouse appears as "HSMshift" in your computer's Bluetooth settings.
Does the Handshoemouse Shift wireless work on a Mac? Yes. The pairing steps work on Windows, Mac and most Linux distributions. On a Mac, follow the Bluetooth route via System Settings → Bluetooth.
The mouse won't connect anymore after not being used for a while. What now? Follow the procedure under "What if the cursor doesn't move after pairing?" above. Charge first, then pair again.
My mouse keeps flashing red, even after charging. What then? Try a different USB cable or USB port. If it still doesn't work, contact Ergowerken support.
These instructions apply to the Handshoemouse Shift wireless. For the wired Handshoemouse models, no pairing is needed: simply plug in via USB.
