Which parts are covered under wear and tear?

Some parts wear out through normal use. For these parts, a modified warranty applies, separate from the standard product warranty. In this article, you'll find out which parts are considered wear items and how the warranty works.

What is a wear item?

A part that gradually stops working properly through normal use. Think of a battery that holds less charge over time, or a battery in a wireless mouse that runs down. That's not a defect, that's normal wear.

Internal batteries: 6 months warranty

Internal (Li-ion) batteries are covered by a 6 month warranty. The reason: a battery is naturally prone to wear. It's like the battery in your phone, which also drains faster over time.

How quickly a battery wears depends on how you use it:

  • Number of charge cycles
  • How empty the battery gets before charging
  • How often the battery is fully charged
  • Temperature and environment

What if my battery fails sooner?

Have you owned the product for less than 6 months and the battery really doesn't work anymore? Report the defect through the usual channels. We'll assess each case individually.

And after 6 months?

After 6 months, the battery is no longer covered by warranty. Have a problem anyway? Get in touch, and we'll look at your options.

Tips to make your battery last longer

  • Don't let the battery fully drain before charging
  • Keep the battery preferably between 20% and 80% charge
  • Don't store the product for long periods in extreme heat or cold

This information applies to products with internal batteries purchased from Ergowerken.
